What Is Antipsychiatry?
Psychiatrist Thomas Szasz wrote a whole book lambasting antipsychiatry. The book is entitled Antipsychiatry: Quackery Squared. Ironically, Szasz was often labeled as being an “antipsychiatrist”, even though he vehemently rejected the label. Szasz rejected the label of being antipsychiatry mostly because, according to him, a significant number of antipsychiatrists still embraced psychiatric coercion and nonconsensual psychiatry.
